Our cashmere yarn is sourced exclusively from Cariaggi Fine Yarns in Italy.
Cariaggi is internationally renowned for its
exceptional fibre selection and spinning expertise, supplying some of the
world's most respected luxury houses.

Sourced from Capra Hircus Laniger goats raised in Inner Mongolia, this rare
fibre is prized for its remarkable softness, warmth and breathability. Our
cashmere is SFA-certified (Sustainable Fibre Alliance), ensuring responsible
animal welfare, environmental stewardship and full traceability from fibre to
finished yarn.

With an average fineness of just 15.5 microns, this Italian-spun cashmere offers exceptional softness, warmth and durability.

Lambswool

Our lambswool and cashmere-lambswool blend yarns are spun by Todd & Duncan, one of Scotland's most respected heritage spinners, renowned for producing some of the world's finest luxury yarns.

Founded in 1867 and based on the banks of Loch Leven, Todd & Duncan combines generations of expertise with the area's naturally soft water to create exceptionally refined yarns.

Sourced from the first shearing of young sheep, lambswool is prized for its exceptional softness, warmth and lightweight feel. Naturally resilient, it creates knitwear that becomes softer and even more beautiful with wear.

What is the difference between cashmere and wool knitwear?

Cashmere comes from the undercoat of goats, while wool comes from the fleece of sheep. Cashmere is finer, softer and lighter, while lambswool has more structure and natural resilience, helping it hold its shape over time. Miella uses both: Italian-spun cashmere and Scottish-spun superfine lambswool.

What is fully fashioned knitwear?

Fully fashioned knitwear is knitted to shape rather than cut from a larger piece of fabric. Each panel is shaped on the machine before being linked together stitch by stitch. The process takes longer, uses yarn more efficiently and allows for a more precise fit and neater seams.

At Miella, our knitwear is fully fashioned and hand-linked by specialist makers in England.

What makes cashmere high quality?

Two things matter most: fibre length and fineness.

Longer fibres spin into stronger, smoother yarn with fewer loose ends at the surface, making the knit less prone to pilling over time. Finer fibres feel softer against the skin.
